Position Available: Corporate Director of Sales and Marketing
Company Name: Epoch Restaurant Group

The Company: Epoch Restaurant Group, a hospitality management company based in Novi, MI specializing in the restaurant and catering industry with properties throughout the State, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Corporate Director of Sales and Marketing. Having earned its reputation for dining excellence in upscale fine-dining restaurants over the last two decades, Epoch now concentrates its efforts in the more casual restaurant segment and in catering and banquet operations, both off-premise and at several exclusive venues.

Summary of Position: This newly created position of Corporate Director of Sales and Marketing reports to the Vice President of the Company. Its primary responsibility is for the planning and implementation of the Company's overall Marketing and Sales strategy and initiatives. This position will develop, lead and execute plans that maximize profitability for the Company and each of its properties in order to achieve budgeted revenues and market share. A primary objective of the position will be to drive Off-Premise Catering sales.

Job Requirements: The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4-5 years previous experience as a Sales and Marketing Director, preferably in the Hospitality industry. A college degree in Marketing, Hospitality or Business Management is preferred or equivalent experience in successful Sales or Marketing careers. Other requirements include:

  • Must have proven Marketing acumen and Outside Sales ability, and superb client management skills.
  • Must have the knowledge and ability to implement social media, websites, search engine optimization and other types of electronic media into the business model.
  • Ability to travel in-state to various corporate properties on a regular basis; valid driver's license, reliable transportation;
  • Must be an energetic, creative and aggressive individual to solicit and target new business while maintaining existing customers. Success will likely require 50-60 hours/week; some evenings & weekends may be required.
  • Strong computer skills, cutting-edge social media knowledge and usage, telephone etiquette, oral and written communication skills and professional appearance are required.
  • Ideal candidate will have existing contact and customer base, especially with mid-to-large sized corporations in our market area.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitors, directs and supports all members of the sales department. Makes face-to-face sales calls. Concentrates sales efforts primarily on Off-Premise catering, while supporting in-house sales staff at dedicated venues.
  • Creates the Marketing and Sales plans and budgets for submission for corporate approval.
  • Develops new programs and campaigns designed to develop additional sales from the various market segments, to include but not limited to electronic and social media, websites and email campaigns and conventional print media.
  • Oversees and manages all in-house and outside creative talent (i.e. graphic artists, printers, photographers) in the creation of collateral sales materials and advertising campaign strategies.
  • Works with the various company properties and the corporate management team to ensure optimum results in cooperative sales, marketing and advertisement campaigns, as well as corporate brand marketing.

Internships

Our internships are designed for incoming college junior and senior hospitality students who are confident, observant individuals with a desire to pursue excellence in the industry. We offer a hands-on program with an opportunity to grow within the Epoch Restaurant Group family.

Each intern will be assigned to work an hourly position at a specific restaurant. In addition to their hourly positions, interns are required to complete a checklist that includes various managerial duties and responsibilities. All interns will be required to attend meetings as well as educational seminars.

During the program, the director of Human Resources will meet one-on-one with each participating intern for feedback regarding their experience and to discuss areas for improvement.

The Epoch Restaurant Group Internship Program runs from mid-May to mid-August.
Interns will be responsible for providing their own housing and transportation.
